Buruczky Ferenc Lehrpfad

The 200 m long basalt street of Vindornyaszőlős, Kovácsi Hill, is a unique geological formation, with caves and fissures reminiscent of flats. Due to the subsidence of the volcanic medium, the looser subsoil was cracked, and monumental basalt columns, fissures, Basalt Street were formed. At the top of the mountain, the marshy Rakottyás lakes are rare habitats for animals and plants. There are many legends known to the locals about the Vadlánlik Cave at the rock corridor.

The area is named after a young, enthusiastic, knowledgeable, conservationist meteorologist. The most famous geological natural treasure of Kovácsi Hill, the highly protected part of the Balaton Uplands National Park, the famous "basalt street" can also be seen by double walking, 8 and 4 km, as well as connecting it with the Zalaszámtó educational trail.

The 6-kilometer-long Ferenc Buruczky Nature Trail, which opened in May 1999, touches all important natural values and presents the flora and fauna of the area.
