Bussay Winery

Bussay Winery

For us, winemaking is a profession through that we try to create value in a traditional way. We believe that a good glass of wine is a staple that easily fits into any conversation.

Our family winery is located on the Kövecs-hill in the immediate vicinity of the triple border, Csörnyeföld settlement. It was founded in 1989 by our father, Dr László Bussay. Thanks to his and our mother Dr Ágnes Ratkovics's persistent work, Zala County has positioned itself again on Hungary's wine map.

Following the death of our father in 2014 we (Dóri and Bianka) took over the winery. With a produce limit on our 5-hectare plantation, one vine gives us one bottle of wine.

Our principle is to bring the best quality into the wine cellar and try not to spoil it. Even in the weaker years, our wines are extremely concentrated and full-bodied, with an exceptionally nice acid structure. We strive for our wines to develop naturally in oak barrels. We produce only for bottling.
